A thousand head on five thousand Oklahoma acres
Genesis Enterprises is a family ranch at Davenport, between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, established in 2015 and running over a thousand head of Angus, Red Angus and Wagyu. It breeds its Angus and Red Angus females to registered Wagyu bulls to produce F1 beef, and holds American Wagyu Association membership under a numbered registration.
Its own framing is genetics combined with disciplined management to deliver value on the rail, which is language aimed at other cattlemen rather than at diners. Value on the rail means what the carcass is worth at grading, and a ranch that talks that way is being measured on outcomes it cannot talk its way around.
The association is holding its 2026 post-conference tour here. Conference tours go to operations the association is content to show its own members, which is a form of peer endorsement that no amount of website copy substitutes for.
Whole, half and quarter, all Oklahoma
Beef is sold direct as whole, half and quarter shares, with cattle bred, born, raised and processed in Oklahoma under the Oklahoma Certified Beef programme. A state programme of that kind is a source-verification scheme rather than a quality grade: it certifies where the animal was, not how it graded.
The quarter share is the useful entry point and it is the least understood option in direct beef buying. A quarter is roughly a hundred pounds of packaged beef, fits a normal chest freezer, and comes as a proportional cross-section of the animal, so steaks, roasts and a large quantity of ground beef arrive together. It is how you buy at this quality without paying premium-cut prices, and the ground beef from a Wagyu cross is the part people are least prepared for.

Common questions
- What does a quarter share get you?
- Roughly a hundred pounds of packaged beef, fitting a normal chest freezer, as a proportional cross-section of the animal: steaks, roasts and a lot of ground beef together. It is the cheapest route to this quality per pound, and the ground beef from a Wagyu cross is usually the surprise.
- What is Oklahoma Certified Beef?
- A state source-verification programme. It certifies that cattle were bred, born, raised and processed in Oklahoma. It says nothing about grade or marbling, so read it as provenance rather than quality.
