The listing does more than most halal Wagyu listings do. It gives an origin, Australian, a marble score, and a portion weight, and it describes the animals as humanely raised and hand-slaughtered. Compared with a bare halal Wagyu label, that is real information.
The same listing calls it Australian and calls it Kobe
The product is titled Halal Kobe Wagyu and carries Kobe Beef as a product attribute. Its own description, a few lines below, says Australian Wagyu with a marble score.
Both cannot be true. Kobe is a certification for Tajima-lineage cattle born, raised and slaughtered in Hyogo Prefecture in Japan, granted by the Kobe association and sold only through handlers on its register. Australian beef cannot be Kobe at any marbling level, and no Japanese Kobe carries a halal certification in any case, because Japan has almost no halal slaughter infrastructure at premium beef facilities.
So read the description rather than the title. What is being sold is Australian Wagyu, which is a good and genuinely halal-available product; the word Kobe on it is not supported and should not attract a premium. This is worth stating plainly because for many buyers here the halal claim is a religious matter, and a listing that is loose with one designation invites doubt about the other, which would be unfair to the beef.
Reading a marble score of 4
The steak is scored at the lower end of the AUS-MEAT marbling scale, which runs up to 9 plus. That is worth understanding rather than dismissing: a score in that band is meaningfully more marbled than a conventional steak and much less rich than the top bands, and it behaves like a very good steakhouse cut rather than something eaten in ounces.
For a first Wagyu purchase that is arguably the right end of the scale, and it is certainly the right end for a full-sized portion on a plate. The number is the useful thing on this listing, and it is the number to compare against other halal Australian Wagyu rather than the price.
