The Hufeisen-Ranch is a family operation selling under the WYO Wagyu name, and it is two businesses in one shop. The first is its own herd: 100 percent fullblood Japanese Black, DNA-verified, born, raised and finished on the ranch, grass-fed with a managed grain finish, dry-aged after harvest under USDA inspection and shipped frozen.

It cannot be checked against an outside authority the way a Japanese number can, and it is still a great deal more than a breed name on a label.
