An Edo-era Omi house

Okaki Farm is a long-established producer of Omi beef in Shiga Prefecture. The producer traces its business to an 1839 cattle-and-horse trading house and describes extended finishing of its Omi cattle; current herd size and generation of management can change.

Okaki and Omi promotion materials emphasize soft fat and refined texture. Treat those as producer characterizations rather than a universal melting-point result. Okaki also operates Omi-beef specialty restaurants.
