- Product pages describe the beef as "registered-certified Japanese Akaushi Wagyu from the American Akaushi Association". That association runs registration and certification as two separate processes with two separate forms, and no membership number, registration number, certificate or pedigree for this herd appears anywhere on the site. Its animal registry now sits behind a login, so a shopper cannot look the herd up either. Ask the ranch which of the two it holds if that matters to you.
- The cattle are born and raised in Arkansas, so "Japanese Akaushi Wagyu" describes the breed rather than where the beef comes from. Japanese Wagyu normally means beef born, raised and graded in Japan. The ranch's entry on a state producer directory goes further and calls the beef "DNA Verified Japanese Wagyu" without naming who does the verifying or what was tested.
- The site never says whether the cattle are fullblood, purebred or a cross. Akaushi is a breed name, not a measure of how much Wagyu is in the animal. The only wording that touches on it calls the cattle "purebred descendants of the original Kumamoto herds", and that sits inside a paragraph about the breed's history rather than a statement about this herd.
- The banner promising free nationwide shipping excludes California, and a live checkout to a California address returns only next-day air at over $300. Alaska and Hawaii return no shipping options at all. The written policy is the accurate one: the lower 48.

Tribe Ranch is a family operation founded in 2021 by Robert and Vikki Tankersley on pasture at Bonnerdale, west of Hot Springs, and it is the closest thing Arkansas has to a full direct-to-consumer Wagyu brand. The herd is Akaushi, the red Japanese breed, moved pasture to pasture on a 30 day rest cycle, raised without added hormones and finished on grain. The shop runs past fifty items, from ribeyes and brisket to snack sticks and ground beef bundles, shipping frozen to the lower 48. The ranch welcomes visitors, sells on farm, and supplies Hot Springs retailers and Stubby's BBQ.
The closest thing Arkansas has to a Wagyu brand

The herd is Akaushi, moved between pastures on a thirty-day rest cycle, raised without added hormones and grain finished.
Shipping is free to the lower forty-eight with two caveats worth knowing before you order: California is served only by an expensive next-day air option, and Alaska and Hawaii get no rate at all.
Why the strongest brand here is not the best documented
The ranch describes its cattle as registered and certified Japanese Akaushi Wagyu through the American Akaushi Association. Those are two separate processes at that association, on separate forms, and the phrase runs them together. Registration records an animal's pedigree; certification is a programme with its own requirements. No pedigree or registration number is published here, and no breed generation is stated anywhere.
That last omission is what caps this listing. Akaushi names a breed, not a generation: it tells you the cattle are red Wagyu and nothing about whether the animal you are buying is fullblood, purebred or a first cross. Those eat differently and cost differently, and a brand this well built is the one you would most expect to say.
