Wagyu from $25 on the menu we read · up to $95
This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.
Why it's listed
Imperfecto is chef Enrique Limardo's one-Michelin-star Mediterranean and Latin dining room in DC's West End, at 1124 23rd St NW. Its a la carte dinner menu closes the savoury list with A5 Japanese Wagyu at 95, a 3 oz strip loin glazed with aged balsamic vinegar. The ten-course Chef's Table degustation, served Wednesday to Saturday at 7pm, runs an A5 Wagyu course seventh, with seabeans chimichurri and stuffed shallot. Neither names a prefecture, a brand or a farm. Weekend brunch adds an unbranded Wagyu burger at 25.
Authenticity flags
- The A5 Japanese Wagyu on the dinner menu tells you the grade and the country and nothing else. No prefecture, brand or farm is named for it, and the Chef's Table Wagyu course names only the grade. If you want to know which Japanese herd the beef comes from, ask before you order.

Common questions
- Does Imperfecto Washington DC serve real Wagyu?
- Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 17, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
- What kind of Wagyu does Imperfecto Washington DC serve?
- Its menu discloses A5 Japanese. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
- Why is Imperfecto Washington DC listed without a Wagyu badge?
- Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
