This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.

Why it's listed

A brewery, distillery and kitchen on Portage Road with a second taproom in Oshtemo, open daily from 11am. This is not a bandwagon Wagyu burger: the June 2026 dinner and lunch cards both carry two plated Wagyu steak entrees, a Surf and Turf Wagyu at 38.50 pairing an 8oz Wagyu top sirloin with shrimp scampi skewers and Boursin mashed potatoes, and a Wagyu and Frites at 31.50 with caramelized onion and truffle fries. The weekend brunch card adds Wagyu Steak and Eggs at 28.50 on the same cut. Every listing stops at the word Wagyu, with no origin, grade or producer stated anywhere on the site.

Authenticity flags

  • Both Wagyu plates are described only as 8oz Wagyu top sirloin. No country, no grade and no ranch appears on any of the four menus, so there is nothing printed that tells you whether the beef is Japanese, Australian or American.
  • The brewery publishes a Local Sourcing Guide naming fourteen Michigan suppliers, and its two beef entries cover shaved ribeye, braised beef and USDA prime burger patties. The Wagyu is not among them, so the supplier list does not answer where the Wagyu comes from.
  • The same menu serves both the Portage and Oshtemo taprooms and prints both phone numbers, so the Wagyu plates are a company-wide offering rather than something specific to this taproom.

Common questions

Does Latitude 42 Brewing Company serve real Wagyu?
Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 17, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
Why is Latitude 42 Brewing Company listed without a Wagyu badge?
Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
