Wagyu from $9 on the menu we read · up to $90
This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.
This venue’s own materials describe the food it serves as halal throughout. That is the venue’s word, not a certificate we verified, and it names no certifying body. Certifiers differ on stunning, slaughter method, invocation and supervision, so ask which supplier and certification it uses before relying on it.
How to check a halal claim →Why it's listed
A halal Texas barbecue joint in Valley Ranch, Irving, whose whole concept is Wagyu: brisket, back ribs, dino ribs, pomegranate-glazed beef belly burnt ends, oxtails, a NY strip and three sausages, all of it beef. Its own ordering page describes the kitchen as locally sourced with all halal meats, and its brisket, back ribs, burnt ends and oxtails name Wagyu~X, a Texas ranch south of Dallas, as the producer. The beef belly is described as olive fed. Pitmaster Salahodeen Abdul-Kafi left an engineering career to open it, and the Middle Eastern seasoning runs through the menu, from a sumac bark on the brisket to an Iraqi sausage built on his father's kabob. No certifier is named for the halal claim, and the producer publishes no breed generation, so the Wagyu is recorded as advertised rather than verified.

Common questions
- Does Kafi BBQ serve real Wagyu?
- Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 13, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
- What kind of Wagyu does Kafi BBQ serve?
- Its menu discloses Wagyu~X. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
- Why is Kafi BBQ listed without a Wagyu badge?
- Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
