Davis Cattle Company is a long-running family ranch at Cascade, Idaho, incorporated in 1979 and still in good standing with the state. It grazes Akaushi (Red Wagyu) cattle on irrigated Long Valley pasture, running Akaushi bulls over Angus cows and raising the yearlings before they finish in Texas for HeartBrand Beef. The American Akaushi Association has recognised the family with a Securing the Legacy Award. The ranch keeps no website of its own, but its beef reaches diners through El Gaucho, whose Northwest steakhouses name it as the source of their Akaushi burger and a Boise short rib.
