What does this mean? →Why it's listed
A small, modern Edomae-leaning sushi counter on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich, run by executive chef Rio Yonathan, serving nigiri, sashimi and maki alongside a $110 chef's-choice omakase platter. Two dishes carry Japanese A5 Wagyu: an a5 wagyu nigiri with soy glaze and garlic chips, and a wagyu and crab roll built with blue crab, a5 wagyu, avocado, cucumber and spicy mayo. The menu states the A5 grade on both but does not name a prefecture, brand or farm. Dinner only, Monday to Saturday.
Authenticity flags
- Both Wagyu dishes are listed as A5 but the menu does not say which prefecture or farm the beef comes from. Ask at the counter if provenance matters to you.
