This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.
Why it's listed
A waterfront fine dining room on Bowers Harbor at the foot of Old Mission Peninsula, open seven days a week from 3pm, with an OpenTable Diners' Choice award and a broad Wagyu program. The dinner card carries a heading reading American Wagyu, Snake River Farms, Idaho over a 6oz filet at 68 and an 8oz manhattan strip at 75, and adds a 14oz wagyu ribeye at 89, an 8oz wagyu hanger Oscar at 65, a wagyu carpaccio at 21 and a chateaubriand built on a 20oz center cut wagyu tenderloin at 199 for two. The bar menu adds a house ground wagyu blend burger at 22 and wagyu meatballs at 16. No breed generation or grade is published.
Authenticity flags
- The menu names Snake River Farms of Idaho above the filet and the manhattan strip, which is a real and checkable supplier. It does not say what generation of Wagyu those cattle are, and Snake River Farms itself describes its American Wagyu as a cross without publishing the percentage, so treat it as crossbred beef of undisclosed lineage rather than full-blood Wagyu.
- Only the filet and the manhattan strip sit under the Snake River Farms heading. The wagyu ribeye, the hanger, the carpaccio and the chateaubriand tenderloin are listed separately with no supplier attached, so the Idaho sourcing is not stated for those cuts.
- The restaurant's Farm to Table page still says it goes further afield for its amazing Kobe beef. That sentence has been on the site unchanged since 2013, and there is no Kobe on any current menu. The beef the kitchen actually names today is American Wagyu from Idaho. Do not come expecting Kobe.
- The bar burger is a house ground wagyu blend and the children's menu lists a burger spelled Waygu, both of which are ground beef rather than a graded cut. The steaks are the real Wagyu program here.

Common questions
- Does Boathouse Restaurant serve real Wagyu?
- Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 17, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
- What kind of Wagyu does Boathouse Restaurant serve?
- Its menu discloses American and Snake River Farms. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
- Why is Boathouse Restaurant listed without a Wagyu badge?
- Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
