This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.
Why it's listed
A six-seat Edomae omakase counter at 2907 Providence Rd, Suite 101, Charlotte, from chef Robin Anthony, listed in the MICHELIN Guide. Booking is on Tock only, a 15-course dinner at $350 and a 10-course lunch at $175, both bookable now. No dish list is published, by design. The venue's own booking pages state that its fish, poultry, seafood and wagyu all come directly from Japan, but name no prefecture, brand or grade for the beef. It holds Kobe Beef Association registration No.2229, the only registration in either Carolina held by a restaurant.
Authenticity flags
- This is a chef's-choice counter and it publishes no dish list, so you cannot see in advance which courses you will be served. Its booking pages say the beef comes directly from Japan but do not name a prefecture, a brand or a grade, and the courses change constantly. If a particular origin or grade matters to you, ask when you book.
- The restaurant holds a Kobe Beef Association registration, which licenses it to serve certified Kobe beef, and the chef has said publicly that the kitchen sources Kobe from Japan. No current course list names Kobe, though. The one dinner that advertised it, an August 23rd collaboration, is a single evening that will not be repeated and is already sold out. Ask whether Kobe is on the counter the night you are booking rather than assuming it.

Common questions
- Does Omakase Experience by PrimeFish serve real Wagyu?
- Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on July 22, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
- What kind of Wagyu does Omakase Experience by PrimeFish serve?
- Its menu discloses Japanese. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
- Is the Wagyu at Omakase Experience by PrimeFish Kobe beef?
- It is licensed to serve Kobe and was not listing it when we last looked, on July 22, 2026. This venue does appear on the official Kobe registry, but Kobe was not on the menu at that check, so no Kobe badge is shown. Licensed rooms drop it between allocations and bring it back, so this can change without notice and is worth asking about directly.
- Why is Omakase Experience by PrimeFish listed without a Wagyu badge?
- Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
