Wagyu from $99 on the menu we read

Menu claim only

This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.

Why it's listed

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille at 4 Perimeter Park South in the Summit area is the chain's Birmingham room, open nightly from 4pm. Its current July 2026 dinner menu carries three Wagyu offerings: a True Japanese A5 Wagyu sliced New York strip sold at 35 an ounce with a two ounce minimum, a 10oz Perry's Reserve Texas Akaushi Wagyu New York strip at 99, and a New York Strip Flight at 99 setting USDA-aged Prime against both. The A5 names no prefecture or brand. Perry's credits its Akaushi to the Beeman Family Ranch in Texas.

Authenticity flags

  • Its Japanese A5 is sold by the ounce with a two ounce minimum, and no prefecture, brand or importer is named for it anywhere on the menu, so there is no way to tell which part of Japan the beef came from. Ask before ordering if that matters to you.
  • Perry's credits its Texas Akaushi to the Beeman Family Ranch, but it says so on its group sourcing page rather than on the Birmingham menu, and it does not state whether the cattle are fullblood Akaushi or a cross.

Common questions

Does Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Birmingham (Summit Area) serve real Wagyu?
Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 16, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
What kind of Wagyu does Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Birmingham (Summit Area) serve?
Its menu discloses Perry's Reserve Texas Akaushi Wagyu and A5 Japanese. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
Why is Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Birmingham (Summit Area) listed without a Wagyu badge?
Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
