Wagyu from $75 on the menu we read · up to $290
This listing's current published materials advertise Wagyu, but the offering does not meet our full verification standard for provenance. It carries no authenticity badge; undisclosed details remain explicitly unverified.
Why it's listed
The Koreatown tabletop grill on South Vermont Avenue, trading since 2003 and one of the best known Korean barbecue rooms in Los Angeles. Its menu carries a dedicated American Wagyu section, sold by the cut, alongside Japanese A5 priced by the ounce: wagyu brisket point at 75, boneless beef short rib and ggot sal at 95 each, A5 wagyu ribeye at 15 an ounce and ribeye cap at 16, plus a Taste of Wagyu flight at 290 that runs four of them together. The chef's cut set opens with thinly sliced A5 ribeye. No prefecture, brand or producer accompanies either the A5 or the American Wagyu.
Authenticity flags
- The homepage advertises "high quality USDA Prime and Kobe style beef". Kobe is a protected Japanese designation for Tajima-lineage cattle certified in Hyogo prefecture, and "Kobe style" describes a preparation or an aspiration rather than the beef's origin. This venue is not on the Kobe registry and nothing on its menu is Kobe; the Japanese beef it does sell is listed as A5 with no prefecture.

Common questions
- Does Park's BBQ serve real Wagyu?
- Its own current menu advertises Wagyu, and that claim was read directly on August 13, 2026. What the menu does not do is say which Wagyu: no prefecture, grade, breed status or producer is published, so the sourcing cannot be checked from outside. That is a gap in what is written down rather than a suggestion that anything is wrong with the beef, and plenty of kitchens buy carefully without printing the details.
- What kind of Wagyu does Park's BBQ serve?
- Its menu discloses A5 Japanese and American. Each of those is taken from the venue's own current materials rather than from a review or a listing site, and the evidence behind it is quoted further down this page.
- Why is Park's BBQ listed without a Wagyu badge?
- Because a badge here means the sourcing was checked, not that the food is good. This listing is published because the venue genuinely advertises Wagyu on its own current material, and it carries no badge because that material does not say which Wagyu. If the venue publishes the prefecture, grade, breed status or producer, the listing can move.
