Wagyu restaurants in Louisiana

Twelve Louisiana restaurants publish here and four clear the full sourcing standard, which leaves eight resting on a menu claim. Two of the four are in New Orleans, the state's only city page, and the other two are single documented rooms in Baton Rouge and Shreveport.

Louisiana holds the most decorated documented room in this directory. Emeril's in New Orleans carries two MICHELIN stars, and no other room that clears our full sourcing standard anywhere in the country holds more than one. Rooms with two and even three stars do appear elsewhere on this site, but they publish on a menu claim rather than on documented provenance, which is exactly the distinction the directory exists to draw and the reason the qualifier is in that sentence.

The state's one Kobe room is not in New Orleans. Superior's Steakhouse in Shreveport holds a licence on the official Kobe Beef Association registry and had Kobe on its menu when we last looked, so it carries the Certified Kobe badge and is the only Louisiana room at the top tier. Shreveport sits about four and a half hours up the road from New Orleans and holds one published Wagyu listing in total, which happens to be that one.

All four documented rooms price in the top tier and all four document Japanese beef. Not one documents American or Australian, and not one names a ranch or a farm anywhere in our records. Eight menu claims against four documented rooms is among the tightest gaps of any state here, which reads as a small market that has been properly worked rather than an under-swept one.
